Functional Food Development

To support the development of a science-based functional food industry locally and globally, FSTRC has been partnered with major food companies to develop high-quality functional food products that can help to reduce the risk of chronic disease development such as cardiovascular diseases diabetes as well as osteoporosis. Industrial partners can take advantage of our-state-of-the-art research platform to identify and characterize the active ingredients of healthy food commodities, to study the health benefits of different food components, to elucidate the mechanisms of actions of these food substances involved in achieving the beneficial effects as well as to develop new technology or processing methods to improve/maintain the biological activities of ingredients in food products.

We are now offering services of investigation of the health promoting & protective effects of functional foods and identification & structural characterization of "active compounds" in food and natural products.
