Plate Count and Identification

Food contaminated by bacteria can cause food poisoning that lead to illnesses, hospitalizations, and deaths. Microbiological limits of different bacteria such as E. Coli, Salmonella and Listeria have been developed for ready-to-eat food to assure the microbiological quality. For instance, some E. coli are pathogenic and bacterial infection by these pathogenic E. coli can cause illness or diarrhea, bacterial infection by Salmonella can cause fever and gastrointestinal upset such as vomiting, abdominal cramp and diarrhea whereas bacterial infection by Listeria can cause fever, stiff neck, confusion, vomiting and diarrhea. In order to enhance the microbiological quality of food, we are now offering a plate count service for E coli and the detection of Salmonella and Listeria in food.
