Report on Lab visit@The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
Lab Test One organized a lab visit to Hong Kong University of Science and Technology on 4 December 2015 (Friday). Four laboratories, Laboratory for Molecular Testing, Centre for Chinese Medicine Research and Development, Jockey Club Controlled Environment Test Facility and Health, Safety and Environment Office Laboratory, were visited in this activity. It aims to let public and trade have a better understanding about the latest application of science and development of testing.

Dr. Brian Chan, Consultant of Hong Kong Productivity Councilintroduced the aims recent activities, mobile apps and webpage of Lab Test One.
Dr. Wing Leung introduced the objectives, testing services and technologies ofLaboratory for Molecular Testing and Centre for Chinese Medicine Research and Development.
Mr. Matthew Laiintroduced the facilities, testing and consultancy services of Jockey Club Controlled Environment Test Facility.
Prof. Samuel Yuintroduced the background, history and testing services of Health, Safety and Environment Office Laboratory in HKUST.
Dr. Wing Leung presented about the hair-drug test procedure. He said hair-drug test is efficient because it exclusively provides a longer detection window and able to provide more accurate result than other common testing services in the market.
Dr. Wing Leung introduced the facilities and testing services of the Centre for Chinese Medicine Research and Development.
Mr. Matthew Lai introduced the Jockey Club Controlled Environment Test Facility. Mr. Lai said the facility is an Air Enthalpy Testing Laboratory composed of three major parts: Indoor room, Outdoor room and Control room.

Mr. Matthew Lai introduced the testing services which have been acquired HoKLAS from Hong Kong Accreditation Service for the Code of Practice on Energy Labelling of Product. The products cover refrigerators,air-conditioners and dehumidifiers.
Prof. Samuel Yu introduced the Biological Safety Cabinet, Class II, it used to handlelow to moderate risk biological agents.
Prof. Samuel Yu and participants discussed the methods and technologies for testing lead in drinking water.
